About Me

Barbara Witkowski
Instructional Technology Specialist
Keystone School District
Knox, PA 16232

Education
I am an alumnus of Kittanning Senior High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Education. I also completed  the Instructional Technology Specialist certification program at Clarion University of Pennsylvania in December 2002.

Work Experience
I started teaching in the Business Department of  Keystone Jr.-Sr. High School in 1978, a position I held for 14 years.  After a one-year furlough, I returned to Keystone as coordinator of the gifted program and served in that role for five years.  In 1998, I once again joined the Business Department in a half-time position.  The other half of my day was spent as the educational technology specialist at the high school. I was named the instructional technology specialist for the Keystone School District in  June 2003.

Professional Affiliations
I hold membership in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), the National Education Association, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, and the Keystone Education Association. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of the Keystone School District Education Foundation and a Discovery Educator Network STAR Discovery Educator.

Personal Information
I have been married since 1979 (!) to Phillip Witkowski, a social studies teacher at Keystone.  We have two sons, Zach, a student at Clarion University,  and Brock, a Keystone student.  In my free time, when I'm not sitting on a bleacher somewhere watching sporting events, I enjoy walking, biking, playing on my computer, and reading.  Also, I love to design web pages!
