Mrs. Corcetti has been with the Keystone School District for over 20 years.  She began as a substitute teacher and in 1993 was hired as the Reading Specialist at Keystone Elementary.  In 2000, she was hired as the Elementary School Principal.

She plans to spend more time with her grandchildren and travel after her retirement.

“It has been a memorable and personally fulfilling experience being a part of the Keystone Family.  Many thanks to the fantastic staff dedicated to the welfare of our children. Congratulations to our students and best wishes for a rewarding and successful future.”

Mrs. Corcett's last day at Keystone Elementary will be September 16, 2011. We wish her our best as she begins a new phase of life.

Reminder to Parents:
Students may bring cell phones to school for emergency purposes ONLY.

Have a Safe Ride to School!
The safety of our students has always been our greatest concern.  Discipline incidents on the school buses have increased the past few years.  As a result, stricter rules have been put into place.  Please note this change:
FIRST BUS OFFENSE: warning and letter home
SECOND BUS OFFENSE: 1 day suspension from bus
THIRD BUS OFFENSE: 3 day suspension from bus
FOURTH BUS OFFENSE: suspension to the end of the year
Parents are responsible for transportation if a student is suspended from the bus. To ensure a safe and comfortable ride to and from school for your student, please review the Keystone School District Bus Rules. If you have questions, please contact the KES office.

AN IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING TREATS SENT TO SCHOOL FROM HOME

Keystone School District has adopted a wellness policy in compliance with the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004.  The policy requires that a minimal number of foods that have sugar as the first ingredient may be served at classroom parties.

As a result, candy, home or store baked cookies, cupcakes, cakes, etc and other foods with sugar listed as the first ingredient WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED as treats brought from home for birthday or other holiday parties. These items will not be distributed in the classroom. They will be returned to you.

If you wish to bring treats for your child to share, you may send fruits, vegetables, nuts, granola, sugarless gum, non-food treats, or other food items that do not contain sugar as the first ingredient.  Beverages must be milk, 100% fruit juice, or water.

Please contact your child’s teacher before sending in any food treats for the class.

Please see the Wellness Policy and Guidelines for Nutritional Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania through a link at www.keyknox.com or www.pde.state.pa.us. The objective of these requirements is to promote student health and to reduce childhood obesity.

Our compliance is mandatory.  Thanks for your cooperation.

A note to parents, community members and organizations who use the building facilities after school hours:
We are pleased that we can offer our Elementary building facilities to you for your organization's use. If you use our facilities after regular school hours, please supervise students at all times.  We must ensure the safety of our children and protect the facilities available for public use. Thank you for your compliance with this request.

Are you familiar with our Student Support Services? Please see the Parents page for more information.

Parents:  Please remember that the school day ends at 3:35 and instruction continues in our classrooms until then. If you are picking your child up at school, please make arrangements to do so at the first bell at 3:35. Thank you for respecting our staff's efforts at maximizing instructional time by avoiding unnecessary classroom interruptions.

Keystone Wellness Policy
Public Law 108-265, the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004, requires all schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to develop local wellness policies.  One requirement of the law is that nutrition guidelines must be developed for all foods available on each school campus during the school day.  The objectives are to promote student health and reduce childhood obesity.  The standards apply to all grades in all buildings.

The standards will require us to regulate what foods can be accepted from home as snacks, birthday treats, or other holiday foods, as well as what we serve in the school cafeteria.

Please read the Keystone School District Wellness Policy. In addition, you may check the Pennsylvania Department of Education website for more information on wellness policies. Also, see the Guidelines for Nutritional Standards for Competitive Foods in Pennsylvania Schools on the PDE web site. You may also see which treats may be sent to school.
