Judge Amy Long's court seat. |
| Mrs. Amy Long has been the District Magistrate for eight months. Her husband, Greg Long, was the previous District Magistrate, and Amy decided to continue his efforts by taking his place in office after his death. Amy also says she chose to pursue this career because she knew it would be an interesting, yet demanding job that would be both good for her and her family. Some of the people that have impacted her the most during her time in office include the people who work with her in her office, the District Justices, and the police of the area. She feels she has a wonderful office staff and says, " They are the reason why my office runs so smoothly." | Judge
Arner, District Justice George, and District Justice Lapinto have been the
most helpful and supportive during her time in office. She explains
the police as being,".. great and very respectful towards
me."
Amy enjoys her job because it brings new challenges each day. She loves helping the youth in the community and hopes to help as many teenagers get back on track as she can while in office. Amy explains, " We are very fortunate to live in an area where there is not a lot of major crime. We unfortunately have a lot of domestic violence and DUI in our area."

Amy was born and raised in the Knox area and is a Keystone graduate.
Amy feels that Knox is filled with friendly people who will
go out of their way to help you. She says, "This is a safe
community to raise your children in because you never feel threatened and
the education is good."
Amy considers the land itself, the country, open spaces, the location, and the people some of the most important assets of the area. She suggests that better education, more people moving into the area, and possibly more industry will help the community improve. |
