Jordan's Hardware is located on Main street in Knox, Pennsylvania and has been an import part of the economic life in the region for many years.

At Jordan’s Hardware you can purchase anything from hardware items such as nuts and bolts to things like wiffle softballs. At his store you receive service from Paul himself. He is very flexible and will help you the best that he can. Talking with one of his customers of the store he said, "Mr. Jordan was very helpful. I needed a copy of a key once and he did an excellent job."

Of his business Mr. Jordan says, "We’ve been around here forty-five years. We basically sell hardware things." On locating his business he commented, "It was here when I started. I worked here before I bought it and I’m glad it is here even though Main Street isn’t what it used to be."

When I asked him what made him stay in the area he replied, "I don’t know why I stayed. I guess it was just home and that is where I live. The people are nice here. If I see someone walking down the street, I’ll say hello and they’ll say hello back whether I know them or not."

When I asked him what he thought of our project and efforts to bring industry into the community he enthusiastically said, "I love it because that brings employment, and that will make people spend money in the area around here."

Of the education system in this area he commented, "Public schools, college, It’s good. He also said the environment for children is, "As good as you are going to find."

For the last thirty years Mr. Jordan and his business have been a vital part of this community.  He has a wealth of knowledge of the community. So I thought whom better to encourage someone to move into the area. When I asked him to say something about the community he said, "It is a nice place to live, the climate is nice, and it would be a peaceful place to retire."
