Built
in 1877, Edenburg School was the first in the borough of Knox. The
building was used until 1923. It was a four-room school that
had two more rooms added in 1897. A four year high school was
started that year. |

School, also known as Slamsburg School, was built in the 1930's and
located near Wentling's Corners. Children attended this school until
eighth grade and then transferred to White
Memorial. |

Mt.
Joy School was a one-room schoolhouse that children could attend from
first to twelfth grade. It was located on the ridge above Canoe
Ripple. Today it is replaced by Mt. Joy Church. |

Blair's Corners School was constructed before 1914. Children went to
this one-room schoolhouse from first to eight grade. |

The
Wentling's Corners Church School was located near the center of Wentling's
Corners. Children attended this school until eighth grade, and then,
like
the children from Central, went to White Memorial for grades nine
through twelve. The Wentling's Corners Community Hall now stands on
the site. |

| Ashland
School was constructed before 1950 in Kossuth, Pennsylvania. Most of
the children who attended Ashland School were from farms and rural
areas. This school was torn down in 1996 to make way for Weaver's
car lot. |

White
Memorial School was located on Mendenhall Avenue in Knox,
Pennsylvania. It was donated to the Edenburg School Board by Mrs.
Daniel White in memory of her husband and son. This school was used
as a high school until 1956 when it became one of the five elementary
schools in the district. |

| Salem
School was built in Lamartine in 1880. This two-story building
located on Community Road, is now being renovated into a day care center
for people in the community. |

Opened in 1956 on Beatty Ave. in
Knox, Keystone Joint High School was built to replace White Memorial as
the high school in the district. It is still in use today as
Keystone Jr. Sr. High School. |
