St. Paul's Church

Churches in Beaver township included:  St. Paul’s Dutch Reformed and Dutch Lutheran Church (which was one of the first church’s built in the county).  Later, J.B. Clark bought the church and tore it down. Also included was Mt. Joy Methodist Church and the Old Stone Church-(built in 1856).

A long time ago Wentling’s Corners was somewhat the center of the community.  All of the one room school buildings and churches were located here.  For most citizens it would’ve been very convenient to have so much in a small area.  At that time it would’ve been hard to travel so far just for your children to go to school or for your family to go to church.  So if you lived near Wentling’s Corners you wouldn’t have to travel far to do everyday activities. Also, since the schools and churches were so close together it would’ve been a very social area among the people in the community.
