The KHS 7th graders made their annual
trek to Beaver Ponds on October 5, 2006, and participated in five
cross-curricular activities. Students used their handheld computers with
probes for water testing, with GPS devices for a scavenger hunt, and
with digital cameras for picture taking. They also completed water
velocity calculations, analyzed the images taken with the cameras, and
completed a reading activity. Special helpers for the day included Mr.
Whitling's son Mike and Cheyenne's dad, Wayne Johns. Faculty and staff
who planned the activities and worked with students included Mrs. Haun,
Mr. Heath, Mrs. McGiffin, Mr. Reed, Mrs. Reinsel, Mr. Whitling, Ms.
Wilson, Mrs. Witkowski, and Mrs. Volpe. |
