February 9 MUSICAL SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED ON THE DEPARTMENT HOME PAGE. 

Congratulations to Kristan, James, Ryan, and Colby for earning spots in Regional Chorus.

FEBRUARY 5 THE MUSICAL PRACTICE SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW IS CANCELLED. 
January 14 The Mid Winter Concert has been changed to Friday, February 19 at 7:30. The concert will be for chorus students 7-12 and senior high band. 
December 9 FRUIT ORDERS MAY BE PICKED UP IN THE AUDITORIUM ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 14 FROM 5-8 p.m.  WORKERS ARE NEEDED AT 3:00 p.m. TO UNLOAD, SORT, AND FILL ORDERS.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to the following students who earned a spot in one of the PMEA District 3 Jazz Bands. 

Tuesdae - Lead trumpet in the White Band (2nd place trumpet overall)

Kayla - Bari. Sax in the White Band (2nd place on bari. sax)
Jake - 3rd chair trumpet in the Red Band (Top 10 finish)
Braden - 4th trombone in the White Band
Josh - 3rd trombone in the Blue Band

 

bulletA reminder that all senior high music students should have returned a registration form for the spring trip to New York City. The form has a place to indicate that the student is not going. having a form from all students gives us a complete record of each student's intentions. Please have these to Miss Hall or Mr. Nesta by Monday, October 19. 
October 1, 2009 The Alumni Concert has been cancelled. A Keystone Music Alumni Group has been set up on Facebook. Please consider joining to receive the latest information about future music alumni events. 
September 28, 2009 Just a reminder that the 2009 American Heritage Concert will be held tomorrow night at 7:30. Concert Band will begin the program, followed by Junior High Chorus and Concert Choir. Details about report times and such for participating students are as follows:

Junior High Chorus: Report to the gym lobby at 7:20 in your lines. Girls should wear dresses, skirts and blouses, or dress pants and a blouse. Please no jeans or athletic shoes unless that is all you have. You are excused at the conclusion of the concert, not when you are finished singing. 

Concert Choir: Report to the choir room at 7:15 to get your robe assignment. Find your robe on the rack and carry it to your seat in the auditorium. Please leave the hanger on the rack so you can return your robe when the concert is over. 

Concert Band: Report to the band room to tune instruments at 7:00. Band members who are in concert choir should get their robes either before or after tuning and bring them to their seat in the band room. 

September 4, 2009 If you were unable to attend the fund raising meeting last night, information is available from Miss Hall or Mr. Nesta.

Students intending to audition for Senior High Select Ensemble must have their Concert Choir Contract signed and returned by September 8. See the note posted 9/2/09 below for more details on how to get this done.

September 2, 2009 All choral students should review the course descriptions and grading policies. Click the classes link below, then the choral link. A link to these documents in pdf format is on the choral page. All Concert Choir students should print the student contract and turn in the signed copy by September 9.

Senior High Select Ensemble auditions will begin after school on Wednesday, September 9 during SSR. Additional audition times will be scheduled after school and in the evening that day.

 

August 27, 2009 KMA fund raising meeting will be on September 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the HS auditorium. The senior high music trip to NYC in March has been approved. Take advantage of the opportunity to fund raise to defray your cost to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.
