The Keystone Music Association was founded in 1955 by Klahr Peterson, a long time music instructor at Keystone. The purpose of the organization is to support the music program in the Keystone Schools.
Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month in the high school library at 7:00 p.m. All meeting dates appear on the music department calendar.
This group handles and coordinates all fund raising for music students. Funds raised are shared between the individual student and the organization. Students may use the money they've earned in KMA sponsored projects for a variety of music related things.
In addition, the organization assists the district with the purchase of items that will enhance the music program. Among these are band uniforms and choir robes, large instruments, instructor fees for marching band camp, and other things.
Music students are honored with a lightweight windbreaker jacket at the beginning of their third year of involvement if they are at least in their sophomore year. Senior music students are also honored at a banquet each spring. The senior and one parent are guests of the KMA.
KMA fund raising events will be on the department calendar and the High School Web Site. Click the link to go there. http://www.keyknox.com/highschool/KMA
