The varsity cheerleaders took 1st place
out of 6 teams in the varsity division at the DuBois Cheer Challenge. Courtney took 2nd in individuals, and Lauren took 1st in individual and 3rd in tumble off.  A stunt group comprised of Lauren, Chelsea M., Corey, Hayley, and Chelsea S. won 1st place out of 7 in the varsity stunt division.
Congratulations to Mareah, Keystone's DAR Good Citizenship Award winner! She was selected by the faculty and her classmates for her dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Congrats to Ben, who had a record-breaking performance as wide receiver vs. Brockway. Ben had 18 catches for 272 yards and four touchdowns. Read more.

In observance of Red Ribbon Week, a student or teacher was chosen every period to be "whited out." Each represents a student who dies every 40 minutes from drug and alcohol abuse.

Students in Grades 4-12 filled the auditorium to hear instructions during the "Young Americans" workshop. Technicians from Cross IT visited KHS to install "Classrooms for the Future" equipment in 8 additional senior high classrooms.

The 3rd annual Keystone Alumni Concert was held in October with 58 alumni performing in the concert band and 79 in the chorus. Guest conductors included Ron Allaman, Keith Buterbaugh, Chris Curry, Thom Douglas, Larry Frank, and Fran Nesta. The choral selections were accompanied on the piano by Sharon Nesta and Nancy Davis.

Congratulations to the 9th Grade Girls' Basketball Team
for their 1st place finish at the Union Tournament. 
KHS seniors observed a Civics lesson taught by Governor Rendell and streamed across the state. More information. Tyler and Zach tested water from one of the Beaver Ponds when the 7th graders made their annual trek to the local wetlands area recently. More information and pictures.

CFF coach Mrs. Geary provided instructions to this year's CFF teachers on using their new Macbooks. Teachers joining the CFF program this year include Mrs. Beggs, Mr. Bessler, Mr. Heath, Mrs. Heller, Mr. Irwin, Mr. Reed, Mr. Sundling, and Mr. Warner.

Mr. Vaughn's sociology class conducted an experiment
dealing with "norms" of society. Students challenged these "norms" by dressing out of character and observing the reactions (both verbal and non-verbal) of their peers and teachers.
Congratulations to Kristan, 2nd runner up in this year's ALF Pageant. Kristan was also named "Miss Photogenic."

Our varsity cheerleaders earned a bid to Nationals at camp in August and was the only team to earn a Spirit Stick each night of camp! Our  junior high cheerleaders were named "most improved team." Eight varsity members were selected as "All- Americans," including Lauren, who was selected as "Top All-American" for the 4th consecutive year! More pictures and information The girls' soccer team traveled to Erie on Aug. 13 to put on a clinic at the Booker T. Washington Center.
