This course is required in the 9th grade and describes the systems of the body and their functions. Common problems and diseases are identified with the emphasis on prevention. Drug, alcohol, and tobacco use is looked at from the point of responsibility and risk. Human sexuality includes special emphasis on AIDS education and the benefits of abstinence. |

Evaluation: - Your evaluation in this class will be based on the following: |
A. Exams - There will be at least one exam for every chapter. B. Quizzes - There will be several quizzes given in preparation for the chapter exams. The quizzes may be unannounced. C. Homework - There will be homework assigned on a regular basis. All homework assignments must be done in complete sentences. D. Notebooks - Your notebook should be neat and complete; if you miss a class, be sure to get the notes given during your absence. The notebooks will be checked periodically. E. Class participation - Pay attention and get involved. |
