Your Newspaper Front Page must:

Contain a lead story based upon your reading which answers the questions "Who?", "What?", "When?", "Where?" and "Why?" about the event which encompasses the following criteria: 
bulletEvidence supports the topic, provides information from primary and secondary sources, organizes information in journalistic style, addresses readers' biases.

Include at least one (but no more than two) pictures which relate to the lead story. 

bullet

Feature an editorial which encompasses the following criteria:
bullet

Structures idea arguments logically, uses specific rhetorical devices to support assertions, defends positions with evidence, addresses readers' concerns.

Be arranged in newspaper format using Microsoft Publisher

Your group poster will be graded according to the following rubric: 

15 = outstanding evidence of positive group interaction in an effort to

12 = strong evidence of positive group interaction in an effort to

  8 = adequate evidence of positive group interaction in an effort to create an effective poster 

  5 = little evidence of positive group interaction or any effort to create an effective poster 

   0 = no evidence of group interaction at all.

75-84% of the articles establish a clear purpose in the lead paragraph and demonstrate a clear understanding of the topic.

The details in the articles are clear, effective, and vivid 90-100% of the time.

Graphics

All graphics are in focus, are well-cropped and are clearly related to the articles they accompany.
