PHEAA PLANNING

FAFSA Overview The FAFSA is the MOST IMPORTANT APPLICATION to complete for almost all types of financial aid. Many state, local, and private entities use the FAFSA to determine eligibility for grants and scholarships.
Create your Federal Student Aid ID here! The FSA ID username and password replaced the PIN as the way to sign the FAFSA online application. The student needs a FSA ID, and if the student is dependent, one parent will also need a FSA ID. You are encouraged to acquire the FSA IDs prior to completing the FAFSA.

Complete and submit your FAFSA here!

FAFSA TIP SHEET

The FAFSA (or Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the most important application to complete for almost all types of financial aid. Many state, local, and private entities use the FAFSA to determine eligibility for grants and scholarships, all with different deadlines. Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1. Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to transfer student and parent tax information to the FAFSA.

After submitting your FAFSA, keep your eyes open for your Student Aid Report (SAR). Your SAR summarizes your FAFSA information and identifies your all-important EFC (Expected Family Contribution). This is used by schools to determine your financial aid eligibility.
